Waiting is….tough. It feels like so much of our lives is spent waiting on something. Or someone. An outcome. Or an answer.
Why does God allow us to go through seasons of waiting? If He can do anything at any time, why do we have to wait?
“March around the city for six days…On the seventh day, march around the city seven times.”
Joshua 6:3
I love the story of Joshua because it reminds me that God is in the waiting…and the victory.
God could have crashed down the strong walls of Jericho in an instant. Instead, He asked His people to walk around the city for days. Why? I don’t know. But I can relate. And I don’t think it was wasted time.
God was working in their hearts before He did a work in the walls. Both were needed. Faith was being built. Courage was growing. Fear was being silenced. Obedience was on display. THEN, God brought down the walls.
If you’re waiting, keep walking. Keep praying and listening. It isn’t wasted time. Keep believing. And wait with faith. God is working.
