A Lesson I Learned From My Son

A Lesson I Learned From My Son

Several years ago, I had a disagreement with one of my sons.  We were both calm in our discussion and disagreement. But we simply landed in different places.  Then my son said, “Mom, you know that this won’t come between us because I value our relationship more than any issue.”

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3

I saw the beauty and truth of this verse in action.  I saw disagreement take its proper place…beneath the bond of love and unity.  I saw that my son loved me more than he loved being right. He was a peace maker. I want to be one as well.

What does it look like for you to be humble and gentle today? To foster unity? To make peace? May we take God’s heart into every discussion we have today. And be peace makers.  – Sandi
