I don’t like it when Jesus says “no”. In the moment it feels like He’s letting me down. It is disappointing. But what if His “no” is rooted in His love for you? And a plan that He knows is better.
“…the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with Jesus. But Jesus didn’t let him go, instead, He said, ‘Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you…”
Mark 5:18-19
Jesus set the man free from a life of torment. So, why would he say “no” when the man asked to go with Jesus? Because Jesus had something better in mind. The healed man had a new purpose. And Jesus had plans for his new life. Good plans. For him and a lot of other people who needed to hear about Jesus.
If you hear a “no” today, trust God anyway. He has a better plan. Perfect timing. And His “no” is always rooted in love and protection for you. – Sandi
