In moments of crisis—when a child arrives at the emergency room, scared and overwhelmed—comfort can come in unexpected forms. Sometimes, it looks like a soft little bear.
That’s why we’re so excited to share that Prayer Bears are now being delivered to children and families at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Filling a Real Need
During our visit, the hospital staff shared something that stopped us in our tracks:
There’s such a need for comfort items in their ER, that staff members have actually been using their own money to buy comfort items for kids who come in during traumatic moments.
Nurses and hospital employees stepping in with their own wallets, because they didn’t want a child in crisis to go without comfort.
Through your support, Prayer Bears, devotional booklets, and encouragement cards are now available to help fill that gap—and remind hurting families that God is close.
Printed on each card,
“Fear not, for I am with you.” – Isaiah 41:10
Real Stories, Real Impact
One staff member shared about a young family that had to flee their home due to domestic violence. They left in a rush—no time to pack, no toys or blankets to hold onto.
In a situation like that, a Prayer Bear would’ve made all the difference. A soft comfort in a cold moment. A reminder that someone cares.
And now, next time it happens—they’ll be ready. You helped make that possible.
They also shared about the specialized care they offer for victims of sexual assault—some of the most vulnerable patients who walk through their doors. In moments like those, even something as small as a bear can remind someone they are not forgotten.
It’s not just kids who need hope. Parents walking into the ER with a sick or injured child are often facing some of the scariest moments of their lives.
Between rushing to get care and the long hours waiting on test results, these included devotionals give parents a place to reflect and pray. It’s a small but meaningful way to bring peace into a chaotic moment.

Thank You for Making This Possible
This isn’t just about a stuffed animal. It’s about what that bear represents! Peace in the chaos. Comfort in the unknown. God’s love, right there in the waiting room.
You made that happen.
So thank you—for giving, for praying, for showing up in ways you may never fully see.
God is using your kindness to reach people in some of their most vulnerable moments.
One bear at a time.
