JOY FM Prayer Bears have been given out to thousands of children all over St. Louis and beyond. Hospitals, courtrooms, police cars, foster care facilities and more have been blessed with bears to pass on to children in their midst, who are walking through some of life’s hardest moments.
Each Prayer Bear is donated by a 99.1 JOY FM listener, is prayed over by volunteers, carries a promise from God, and is sent out to provide hope in hurting places.
Now, God is opening yet another door for these bears to bring comfort in a brand new way, through a partnership with Angel’s Arms.
A Place Where Love Grows
Angel’s Arms provides loving foster homes for children, by keeping siblings together and surrounding them with stability, compassion, and care. Serving nearly 100 children every year, Angel’s Arms has given over 700 children the chance to heal, belong, and be part of a family again.
Their founder, Bess Wilfong, says she knew from the very first day that this mission was something God was calling her to. “I knew how good people are and that they would come forth if we gave them the opportunity,”
And she was right!
Through the generosity of individuals, businesses, and the community, Angel’s Arms continues to give foster families the support they need to love and nurture children right where they are.
A New Chapter of Comfort and Faith
JOY FM had the privilege of delivering Prayer Bears to the team at Angel’s Arms, a gift that will soon meet many new children entering foster care.
Their goal? That every child who walks through the doors of an Angel’s Arms home will receive a Bible, and a JOY FM Prayer Bear to remind them that they are deeply loved and never forgotten.
One foster mom shared,
“When they come into your home and you have something to give them that is theirs and will always be theirs… you can’t replace what they’ve lost, but you can offer them HOPE.”
Another added,
“Someone took the time to care. That means a lot, because a lot of times they don’t have that care.”
It’s More Than a Bear. It’s A Reminder of God’s Love.
Through the support of listeners like you, volunteers, and partners like Angel’s Arms, these Prayer Bears continue to show up right where comfort is needed most. Because sometimes, a simple bear can carry the greatest message of all:
