When you hold on to the heaviness that you were never intended to carry, it leads to exhaustion. When you worry about things that you can’t change, it leads to anxiety.
“They have abandoned me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that do not hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13
I see myself in that verse because I tend to settle for something less than God’s best. I try to fix things on my own. Figure out a path ahead. Rely on what I can see and do more than trusting in the one who can do more than I can imagine.
If you’re overwhelmed and weary, Jesus is offering fresh living water for your soul. It is found in His presence. In His power. In the peace that He offers.
He is the source of life and hope. Everything else disappoints, vanishes, and is exhausting to carry. If you’re feeling spiritually dry and thirsty, you’re ready for Jesus and the living water He offers. – Sandi
