Wrestling With God Means That He’s Holding On To You. Keep Holding On To Him.

Wrestling With God Means That He’s Holding On To You. Keep Holding On To Him.

What does it look like to wrestle with God? I only know what it looks like in my life and in the story about Jacob, who said:

“I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

And a heavenly voice said, “…you have struggled with God and men and have overcome.”

Then Jacob said, “I saw God face to face…”  (Genesis 32:26-30)

An all-night wrestling match with God. Seems like an unfair fight. But it wasn’t to determine who wins…but rather to see God’s face. To know His character. To know that He’s big enough to handle your questions, fears, and tears.

Wrestling is personal. Jacob was honest. God was patient. And the result was a blessing for Jacob…He saw God’s face. His heart. And faithfulness. Yet again.

If you’re wrestling with Jesus, you’re not alone. We all do. Stay in the struggle. Don’t let go of God. Cling to Him through the inner fight you’re dealing with.

And may you see Him in a way you never have before. He is holding on to you. – Sandi
