Some Things Only Grow Through Seasons Of Suffering

Even though no one seeks it out, suffering finds us all.  Sickness. Death and loss. Disappointment. Everyone born into this broken world will taste suffering. So, what do you do with it?

“…We rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance,
which produces character, which produces hope. And hope doesn’t disappoint us…”
Romans 5:3-4

I’m not there yet. My first response to suffering isn’t rejoicing. But some things only grow in seasons of suffering.

Your faith and confidence in God grows through seasons of suffering. I’ve experienced it. You see God’s fingerprints even through the sorrow. You experience peace through the pain. And you have a deeper longing and hope for heaven. When everyone is healed, and all is made right.

If you’re suffering today, I am so sorry. I pray that the God of all comfort will bring you peace. And I pray that you see Him working, even now. That you will persevere. And that the hope you have in Jesus will grow stronger. Because His promise is that He will not disappoint. He gets the final word. – Sandi
