If Jesus were to identify and offer you what you needed most, what do you think it would it be?
Jesus has such a way of seeing people. Throughout the Bible, He saw past their past. He saw their hopeful future. And He had a way of also being so present and addressing what their heart longed for the most.
I think about the infamous woman that Jesus met at a well. She was known for her many failed relationships and had quite a reputation around town. I don’t know what she thought she needed most, but Jesus did.
“Whoever drinks the water I give, will never thirst again.” John 4:14
She was searching. Settling. And she was unsatisfied. Jesus met her and offered Himself, “Living Water.” He knew what she needed most. And it is what we need as well. A perfect love that never leaves.
What are you longing for today? If you’re restless, unsettled and searching, ask God to meet you at the well. He will. And He’s enough. – Sandi
