Of all the creative things that God has done… this one makes me smile.
A faithful prophet of God named Elijah was hungry, desperate for food and water. God didn’t resort to his familiar “bread and loaves” miracle. Instead, he ordered the birds to bring Elijah bread and meat every morning and night. (1 Kings 17:2-6)
I have no idea why God chose to work in this way. But what a reminder of His creativity, His care, and His faithfulness. No one would have ever predicted the outcome. But God isn’t limited by what we can predict or even imagine. He’s not limited by time, resources, rationale, etc. He has no limits.
I hope this crazy sounding story from scripture encourages you today. You may feel like there’s no way out or through your situation. But God sees it differently. He’s the same faithful, unpredictable God that He’s always been. He may not provide in the way or timing that you expect, but you can have confidence in God today. He sees you. He cares for you.
