Healing Follows Humility

Healing Follows Humility

I don’t know why it brought so much joy to “tattle’ on my brother.  But it did.  Most of the time, we were getting into trouble together.  But that didn’t matter.  I always thought it was his fault and I couldn’t wait to point the finger.

“If my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

It is so easy to spot other people’s “stuff” isn’t it? We point a finger at others while we struggle in our own ways. It is so easy to believe that “they” (whoever they may be) are the problem. Always.

But what if we have things to bring to God? What if we have blind spots and desperately need God’s grace and forgiveness? What if this verse is written for us….not for them?

It is.

Healing begins with humility.  May it begin within us. – Sandi
