Why does God allow suffering? That’s a question that we have all asked. There’s not a simple answer. And there is no “why” that will ease your pain.
But there is a Comforter. And there is a promise.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name.” Psalm 147:3-4
I love this verse because it reminds me of God’s power and His personal attention. He made the stars yet cries with you. He’s a powerful creator, and He’s gentle with our wounds and hurts.
This world that we live in is full of brokenness and hurting people. It’s no wonder that we feel battered and broken at times.
Heaven is where there will be no more pain or sorrow. Until then, Jesus, who was acquainted with suffering, walks with us and tends to our wounds.
If you’re hurting today, don’t lose hope. Hold on to the maker of the stars and the healer of your broken heart. Hold on for eternity. – Sandi
