God doesn’t look at shortcuts the same way we do.
“God didn’t lead them on the road…that was shorter…. God led them around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.” Exodus 13:17-18.
What we see as a detour or the long way home may actually be God’s divine working in our lives.
There was a shortcut. They knew it, and God knew it. There had to be moments of doubt. Questioning God. Especially as the enemy approached. And the options seemed limited. They didn’t know He was going to part the sea. They simply knew He didn’t choose the shortcut.
When I don’t understand the journey, and I can’t yet see a way out, I get fearful and begin to doubt. God isn’t concerned with shortcuts. God was positioning them for His purposes. And He was with them every step of the seemingly longer-than-necessary journey. The same is true for you. You can trust Him. He goes before you. – Sandi
