What do you do when someone hurts or insults you? Honestly, for me, it depends on the day. My first instinct is to try to hurt them back. But God invites us into something better.
“Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9
Why in the world would we bless someone who hurts our feelings? Because we’ve been shown grace that we don’t deserve either.
God knows it’s unfair. But He still invites us to pass on the grace and blessings that we’ve been given.
