Where are you, God? Have you ever felt like He was a million miles away? A friend once invited me to make a chart of the times that I felt closest to God…when He felt the closest to me. You know what I discovered? His presence seemed the most real to me when I was going through the most difficult times in life. I don’t know if in my brokenness I moved closer to Him or He moved closer to me, but in those really tough times, I knew He was near.
“My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.” Job 42:5
Job’s life was marked by suffering. But it was also marked by God’s presence…even in unimaginable grief.
God is with you. Today. Even in the pain or confusion. Don’t settle for simply hearing about God. Turn to Him. Especially in your struggles and suffering. He is close. He doesn’t abandon you when you’re hurting. He reveals Himself to you.
What if this season is something you will look back on, in time, and realize that God’s presence was more real than you realized? When you get a glimpse of Jesus, especially in the really difficult times, it changes your relationship with Him. – Sandi
