Fresh back from Guatemala, my heart is full! And I just wanted to say thank you.
Because of your generosity, we were able to serve in ways that brought healing and hope to families who need it most.
We met with teenage students and their moms in remote villages where poverty runs deep. Many of these kids are the first in their families to stay in school, learn to read, and dream of a different future. And their moms, most of whom have never learned to read or write, are now discovering how to encourage their kids and begin healing from their own pain.
Christian counselors joined us, offering support to young girls recovering from abuse, teenage boys dealing with rejection, and moms who carry deep wounds of their own.
What we saw was powerful.
And while that was happening, a construction team was building bunk beds—because until now, many of these families were all sleeping on one worn-down twin mattress in a single-room home. These bunk beds created space for rest and dignity.
And we can’t forget about the Prayer Bears! They were writing scriptures on the back of the t-shirts of the little prayer bears to remind them that God is with them. These bears were a simple reminder to them that they weren’t alone, even after we left.
You made all of this possible.
The bunk beds, the bears, the healing. So from the students, the parents, the counselors, and from all of us at JOY FM… thank you for sharing Jesus with the world.
