I think I’m a “chaser.” I enjoy working hard. Working toward a vision. Seeing things happen. God can use all of that. Unless I’m chasing the wrong things.
“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator…” Romans 1:25
I recognize myself in that verse, at times. I can get caught up in chasing things, rather than pursuing my Creator. When I do, the chase is exhausting and meaningless. I settle for the chase instead of the pursuit.
I pray that God would reveal any area in your life, and mine, that is less than His best. Where have we settled for something less than Truth? What has our attention and passion more than Jesus? What are we chasing that is trying to replace our first Love?
God, you alone are worthy of our worship. May we chase after your Word and your will with fervor and humility. – Sandi
