Last year, someone close to me passed away, and in the middle of the grief, I spent a lot of time thinking about life and death. My own. There was a persistent, pesky fear tangled up in all of it. And this verse really helped:
“I am convinced that neither death or life…the present nor the future…
nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
To me, grief felt like a permanent disconnect. Not only from the person who passed away, but it crept into other relationships as well. And the fear was that God would disconnect as well.
Until His Word convinced me otherwise. There is nothing. No. Thing. That can disconnect you from God’s love. Nothing in this life. Nothing in death. Because God holds on. He holds you with a persistent, faithful, unbreakable love. That is His promise.
Don’t let grief, doubt, or sin rob you of your peace. And if you have never accepted His love, you can make peace with God today. He loves you. – Sandi
