I was talking with a friend the other day. She shared that several years ago, a loving pastor pointed out that an area of her life was in conflict with God’s Word. Ouch. Those would be difficult words to hear. I asked how she responded and she said, “I don’t want any area of my life to be at odds with God or His Word. If someone needs to change, it’s me, not a perfect God.”
“Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Proverbs 30:5
God’s Word can be difficult to swallow sometimes because it points out our need for a savior. But God’s Word is rooted in His love for us and it is a shield of protection for our lives.
We need Jesus. And His words bring salvation, peace and protection. Every word brings life.
