He Is Still God… Even In Your Not Yets

He Is Still God… Even In Your Not Yets

If I’m being honest, there are times that my worship is more about me than God.  That sounds horrible.  But I think it’s true.  It is so much easier to worship when I FEEL good or when God has answered a prayer.  It is difficult to worship through the “not yets” or the “I didn’t see this coming.”

“Early the next morning, Hannah arose and worshiped before the Lord….” 1 Samuel 1:19

Hannah’s story is powerful. She wanted a baby but was unable to conceive.  She desperately cried out to God.  Others mocked her, but she faithfully prayed and worshiped…..even before her prayer was answered.

So there’s double meaning to “Hannah worshiped BEFORE the Lord.”  It not only speaks to her posture, but also to the timing of her worship.

I want to worship BEFORE the Lord DOES anything for me. I want to worship in the unknown and the not-yets. Because then my worship is about HIM and not me.  He is worthy…..even BEFORE we can see it.   -Sandi
