When I grow up, I want these 3 words to define my life: Joyful. Patient. Faithful.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
That “to do” list seems daunting, doesn’t it? Like joy, patience and faithfulness are just a tad bit beyond our reach most of the time. I can’t muster up those qualities in my life. But then I realize that the verse doesn’t say “to do.” It says to “be.”
How do we be more …and grow more …in those areas? Go to the source. When the Holy Spirit has more control of my life than I do, I will look more like Jesus.
What about you? Do you want to be more joyful, patient and faithful to pray? I do too. Maybe it starts with talking to Jesus right now.
