The struggle for me isn’t in loving Jesus. The struggle is…who do I love more: Jesus or me? That’s the rub, isn’t it? To love God more, we’re called to surrender more.
“He must become greater; I must become less.” John 3:30
On the surface, this sounds so perfect and poetic. But when He starts chiseling away at your pride, your habits, your sense of control, that’s when it hurts. Becoming less so He can become more in your life can be painful. I know.
It’s difficult to let some things go, to choose His way, and to wait on His timing. But that’s how we grow. That’s how He becomes greater in and through our lives.
