Is Joy Possible When You’re Just Not Feeling It?

Is Joy Possible When You’re Just Not Feeling It?

What do you do when you just don’t “feel it?”  The desire to worship or pray…just isn’t there?

I have to admit that sometimes, my worship and my joy can drift to an “only when I feel like it” place. If things aren’t going great or if I’m not “feeling it” then I’m not praising Him and my attitude tanks.

“Though the fig tree doesn’t bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails, and the fields produce no food…yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
Habakkuk 3:17-18

I want that kind of joy.  The kind that isn’t based on circumstance, my bank account or the weather.  The kind of worship that is rooted more in who He is and not how I feel.

If you’re not “feeling” it today, that’s fair.  Life is hard. Pain and disappointment are real.  But I pray that even in the middle of the struggle, your heart will gravitate to an honest place of gratitude and joy.   – Sandi
