I get kind of “judgey” every time I think of this story in Scripture. The disciples were in a boat with Jesus. He was sleeping. A storm came and the disciples woke Jesus by saying, “We’re going to drown!”
Why were they so afraid? Didn’t they know Jesus was right there? Didn’t they know of His power? They had seen Jesus do miracle after miracle. They didn’t even ask Jesus for help. Instead, they informed the Son of god that they were going to drown. WHAT?!?
“Jesus got up, rebuked the winds and waves, and it was completely calm.” Matthew 8:26
God was in control before, during, and after the storm. The disciples forgot that. I do too. Whatever boat that you’re in today, Jesus is with you. You may see the storm and waves. But God is in control, still. – Sandi
