Some friends and I were talking the other day about what a struggle it is to keep God at the forefront of our lives. We feel bombarded with so many good things and so many tempting things that it can be a struggle to honestly desire God above it all.
“Don’t love the world or anything in the world.
The world and its desires pass away but the one who does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15,17
That’s a heart check for me. What do I love the most? What has my attention and my affection? What is keeping me from totally surrendering all of my life to Jesus?
If God is bringing something to mind, you can trust Him with it. With it all. Nothing in this world lasts. So hold it all loosely. And cling with a passion to the One you will spend eternity with. Jesus over everything. – Sandi
