When Jesus looks at you, He may see something that no one else does.
“Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon, son of John. But you will be called Peter.” John 1:42
I think there is more tucked into this verse than a name change.
Jesus looked at Simon. He noticed what everyone else did. But He also saw more. And He marked the moment by giving Simon a new name.
Can you even imagine being seen…really seen by Jesus?
Can you fathom what He sees when He looks at you? The “not yets”…the “I know what you’ve done but I’m giving you a fresh start,”…. the “I know who I’ve created you to be…”
Jesus sees you. All of you. And He has given you a new name….child of God. What a gift! Remember who you really are. – Sandi
