Project READ is a free literacy program that serves the Metro East pairing volunteer tutors with adult learners who need to improve their reading or math literacy skills.
Volunteer tutors receive training and all necessary materials to help ensure the success of their learner.
The tutor agrees to meet at least 2 hours a week with their assigned learner. All tutoring sessions are scheduled in a mutually agreed upon public location such as a library, a park, a coffee shop, or any of the Southwestern Illinois College Campuses.
