Position Summary:
The Women’s Minister at Refresh Community Church will provide strategic vision, leadership, and oversight to the women’s ministry, fostering an environment where ensuring that women at all stages of life are discipled, mentored, and connected to the life of the church. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that promote and facilitate opportunities for spiritual growth, community engagement, and leadership development while aligning with Refresh’s overall discipleship strategy. The Women’s Minister will work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers to cultivate a Christ-centered community for women.
Qualifications:
Membership at Refresh Community Church (Current or upon hire)
Deep, vibrant faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission of Refresh Community Church.
Experience leading, discipling, and mentoring women in a church or ministry setting.
Strong teaching, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to lead multi-generational and multi-ethnic groups effectively.
Leadership in building and developing volunteer teams.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Action-oriented with initiative, creativity, and a passion for serving women.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and church members.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and relational intelligence.
Bachelor’s degree or other training in ministry, theology, counseling, or a related field.
5 or more years of experience in care, discipleship, or church leadership.
Training or certification in biblical counseling, coaching, or small group facilitation.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Formation & Discipleship
Provide leadership and direction to all aspects of Refresh’s Women’s Ministry.
Assist in the development of Refresh’s discipleship strategy and ensure women’s ministry is integrated into the broader church vision.
Mentor and disciple women, helping them grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.
Oversee women’s classes and discipleship groups throughout the year.
Equip and support leaders in developing curriculum and facilitating study groups.
Community & Relationship Building
Plan and execute special events, retreats, and gatherings to encourage connection and spiritual renewal.
Work alongside church leadership to ensure a multi-generational and multi-ethnic approach to ministry.
Create opportunities for women to serve within the church and community.
Support Pastors in Group leader identification, development and support.
Shepherding & Care
Serve alongside pastors to provide shepherding care, crisis support, and spiritual guidance to women in need.
Offer wisdom and direction in shepherding cases, providing one-on-one spiritual care as appropriate.
Mobilize prayer support and care teams for women facing life challenges.
Leadership Development
Identify, recruit, and equip women for leadership roles within the ministry.
Develop teams for teaching, mentoring, and serving in various capacities.
Train and empower volunteers to lead women’s small groups, Bible studies, and ministry initiatives.
Collaboration & Church Integration
Work with the spiritual formation team to align women’s ministry with Refresh’s discipleship roadmap.
Participate in churchwide initiatives and partner with other ministries to strengthen the church community.
Assist pastoral leadership in developing and refining churchwide curriculum for discipleship and community groups.
Help shape sermon discussion guides and other spiritual formation resources.
Administrative & Organizational Leadership
Develop and manage the women’s ministry budget, ensuring stewardship of resources.
Maintain an organized system for volunteer recruitment, team management, and event planning.
Attend staff and Grow Team meetings regularly.
Oversee communication and promotion for women’s ministry activities.
Classification: Part-time 20 – 25 hours, ministerial
Hours/Schedule: Occasional evenings and weekends required for events, retreats, and meetings.
