"StoryLink" A Program Connecting Missouri Prison Residents with their Children in Jesus' Name

“StoryLink” is a faith-based volunteer program that helps strengthen relationships between residents of Missouri prisons and their children, using the power of God’s love. To date StoryLink has mailed more than 100,000 children’s books, Bibles and audio narrations to boys and girls at home who are missing a parent or grandparent in prison.

We are in need of volunteers to help visit the prisons with our team. This will entail opportunities for Christian witness, as well as helping inmates select a book and greeting for their child at home. This is an opportunity to help an incarcerated person grow in their faith, literacy and self esteem with each monthly interaction. While this is a time intensive volunteer opportunity requiring significant travel, it is incredibly rewarding to be a light to families facing a difficult circumstance.

StoryLink is in high demand at Missouri’s prisons – at one of the institutions we visit, anywhere from 70-90 participants are served each month. With that being the case we could also use help hosting book drives, shopping for children’s books and taking high volumes of media mail to the post office.

We ask you to prayerfully consider joining our small (but mighty!) team of StoryLink volunteers and experiencing how God is moving in the lives of incarcerated persons and their little ones we serve.
