The long and winding road… makes for a great song lyric. But when your life feels like it’s taking too long to get down this ever-winding, bumpy road… what do you do?
“God didn’t lead them on the road…that was shorter…. God led them around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.” Exodus 13:17-18.
Their story may sound like yours. There was a shortcut. They knew it, and God knew it.
They had to question God’s leading. And doubt His plan. They had to long for the shortcut and the “easier path.” Especially as the enemy approached. And the options seemed limited.
They didn’t know that God was going to part the sea. They simply knew He didn’t choose the shortest way. God didn’t choose the path that they would have. And they had to feel stuck…between the enemy and the deep waters.
We get there too. But God is never concerned about shortcuts. He was positioning them for His purpose. He was with them every step of the seemingly longer-than-necessary journey. And He made a way.
The same is true for you. You can trust Him. Even on the long and winding road. – Sandi
