The four-letter word that haunts me the most. FEAR. In big and not so big ways, fear shapes and impacts my thoughts every day. Does fear have more of an influence in your life than you want?
“All the people in the region asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So He got into the boat and left.” Luke 8:37
What a reminder of the power of fear in our lives. It can literally try to push Jesus away. This verse is a gut check for me. In what ways have I become so comfortable with fear that I prefer to spend time with it than with Jesus? Honestly, there are times that I would rather worry than pray. But what if we call our worry for what it is. FEAR. And what if we call on Jesus to invade our minds and hearts with peace and faith. Let’s spend more time with Jesus than fear today and see how His presence changes things. Changes us. – Sandi
