Be Still Before the Lord and Wait Patiently for Him

Be Still Before the Lord and Wait Patiently for Him

What do you do when you love God, but get disappointed with His timing…or lack thereof? Why isn’t He working or answering your desperate cries for help? When I find myself getting frustrated with God, this verse is good for my soul:

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Psalm 37:7

It is like a whisper from the tender heart of God….

“Be still. Stop striving and stressing. Take a breath in my presence and simply be still.”

It can be both uncomfortable and comforting to be still in God’s presence. It is a posture of trust. Confidence in who He is, not simply what He may or may not do.

I’m not good at being still. Or being patient. But God’s invitation is to bring all of our anxiety and angst to Him. And lay it down. Quiet the noise in our heads. Be still in His presence and wait for Him to do what only He can do. Pause in His presence today. – Sandi
