Are you feeling restless? Unsettled? There are so many reasons why our heart and minds get to that place. But I’ve found that my contentment has to start and end with being right with God. It doesn’t mean everything is perfect or that you “feel” happy all of the time. But there is a deep sense of contentment and peace that only God can bring.
“Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” Psalm 116:7
Maybe your heart needs the reminder that God has been good to you. He really has. His pursuing love. His forgiveness. The hope and purpose that is found in Him alone. So much more than we deserve.
I don’t know where you are on the contentment scale today. But I pray that as you pause to thank God for the many, many ways in which He has been good to you….that your soul will be at rest. At peace. That you find contentment, because He has been good to you.– Sandi
