God Isn’t Afraid Of The Bitter Places In Your Heart.

God Isn’t Afraid Of The Bitter Places In Your Heart.

Bitterness. It is a word that I don’t even like to say out loud. But it can creep into your heart, take root, and taint every part of your life.  So, what can you do if you feel bitter?

“In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord….She ate something…..
Early the next morning she worshiped before the Lord.”
1 Samuel 1:10-19

I don’t know fully what “bitterness of soul” means.  But I think I get there sometimes.  And when I do, I feel like crying and eating!

I don’t know how helpful the crying and the eating are, but I love that Scripture is honest and real. Hannah cried, prayed, ate, and worshipped.  And God met her there.

The path away from bitterness probably starts with being honest with God. Crying it out with Him. Praying. And even worshiping when you may not feel like it.

God will meet you in the bitter places of your soul. Let Him tend to you and heal the broken and bitter places. He will. – Sandi
