When you are disappointed or navigating through grief, it is tempting to assign a promise to God that He didn’t make. I’ve done it. “Why, God? Just tell me, why?” “If you’re good, you wouldn’t allow this to happen.”
God hasn’t promised a problem-free life or an explanation to everything you face. But He has promised:
“The Father of compassion and God of all comfort who comforts us in our troubles…”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
God promises to meet you with compassion and comfort every time you’re hurting. He understands suffering. And He alone is able to comfort your broken heart.
He also promises that this life and death don’t get the final word. He does.
If you are suffering right now, let Him in. The God of all compassion is close. Don’t settle for seeking answers that won’t diminish your pain. Call on the Comforter. – Sandi
