I will never forget this. We were on a mission trip in Guatemala when our friends got word that their first grandchild was born. Early. Healthy. Thousands of miles away. They were conflicted about whether they should stay or go home early to meet their new grandbaby. They felt God was leading them to stay. But their hearts were still conflicted.
During church the next day, they worshipped and wept. A young Guatemalan mother was sitting on the other side of the crowded service holding her sleeping baby. During worship, without saying a word, she made her way over to my friends and held out her baby as if to say, “Would you like to hold her?” They did. They sang. They cried. And our entire team wept with them.
“I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.” 2 Kings 20:5
It was a powerful reminder that God sees. He saw their tears. He nudged a tenderhearted new mom. And we were all in awe of God’s care.
God hears your cries, too. He sees you. May you see evidence of His heart at work in your life today.- Sandi
